Posting Guidelines

I thought it would be helpful to have some posting guidelines so that we can easily find recipes on the site and to ensure some consistency in the way that recipes are posted.

Recipe Post Titles
For recipes, include a descriptive name of the recipe first, followed by your name. For example:

Lasagna with Italian Sausage - Tonua Brown
This will ensure that if there are 15 different recipes for lasagna, you can differentiate among then. Adding your name helps anyone that is looking for your specific recipe (or all recipes by you) search the site more effectively.

Recipe Post Body
The first thing in the post should be a short description of the recipe. For example:

"Old World" style lasagna using authentic Italian ingredients.

This will help anyone perusing the recipes to quickly determine if they are interested in the recipe.

After that, enter your recipe. My personal preference is to include the preparation information at the front (prep time, baking time, oven temperature, and number of servings), followed by the list of ingredients, and then the preparation instructions. However, I don't think this needs to be that strict. I think the title and short description are critical just to help the readers of the blog easily find and sort through recipes.

Also, feel free to post recommendations about what to serve with the recipe. This can be helpful for those who are trying a brand new recipe.

Non-Recipe Blog Posts
I think this blog can be more than just a recipe blog. For example, if you want to post about favorite wines (or illicit others to recommend wines) or any food-related topic, feel free to do so. For these types of posts, no posting guidelines are necessary.

Also, let me know if you have any suggestions for the guidelines that would make using the site or recipes easier and I'll add them to this list.

Happy blogging!
